Community Opportunities

The Alumni Association would like to begin offering our members “Community Events and Opportunities”.  Each week we will give you noteworthy items to consider.

A.  Chick-fil-A Leadercast  2012
The choices you make define you as a leader and have the potential to create a positive impact in your organization, your community, and beyond. That’s what the Chick-fil-A Leadercast 2012, hosted by Stinson Home Design, is all about!

The Chick-fil-A Leaderscast will be held on Friday, May 4 at The  Rock Community Church behind Ling’s on South Florida Avenue.   Cost is $50 and runs from 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM.  Lunch is provided. 

The Chick-fil-A Leadercast 2012, broadcast LIVE from Atlanta to The Rock Community Church on May 4, offers a unique opportunity to hear from some of the top leadership and business minds of the world, including Soledad O’Brien, Tim Tebow, Urban Meyer, Patrick Lencioni, John Maxwell, Marcus Buckingham and more!

B.  LLAA Social with Class 29

Join us on Thursday, May 3 from 5:30- 7:00 PM at the Polk Museum of Art for our annual Social with the New Graduating Leadership Class 29.  No cost for you.  Complimentary drinks and appetizers.

Ed Crenshaw receives

2011 Jere Annis Award

At the Annual meeting held on January,19, 2012,  Ed Crenshaw,  CEO of Publix Supermarkets received the Alumni Association's highest honor.  The Jere Annis Leadership Award was established in 1989 by the Leadership Alumni Association to honor the late Dr. Jere Annis, an organizer of the Leadership Lakeland Program, past president of the Lakeland Area Chamber of Commerce, and Chairman of Leadership Lakeland I and II.  Dr. Annis, who died in 1989, was the founder of Watson Clinic.

 Criteria for this award includes :

  • being a graduate of the Leadership Lakeland Program
  • Contributing significant community service within the Lakeland area with an emphasis on government, civic, and social service.
  • Creating a definite positive impact on the community.
  • Being involved in the community on a continuous basis.
