John Hill, Deputy Superintended for Polk County Public Schools, will give us an overview of what Polk County schools will look like heading into the 2020-2021 school year, with a Q&A following the presentation.

About John Hill: John Hill was named deputy superintendent of Polk County Public Schools in May 2018.

In his capacity, he currently oversees a team that includes three associate superintendents covering Finance, Human Resources, and Teaching & Learning; regional assistant superintendents of high schools, middle schools, and elementary schools; the regional assistant superintendent of school improvement; and assistant superintendent of student services and the Director of Discipline.

Hill has more than two decades of experience with the school district. From 2007 until he was named deputy superintendent, he was principal of Auburndale High School. He also previously served as a teacher at Crystal Lake Middle, dean of students at Lakeland Highlands Middle and assistant principal at Jere L. Stambaugh Middle.

Hill was president of the Association of School-Based Administrators for two years and served on the ASBA Board for a total of four years.

He earned his bachelor’s degree in social science from Southeastern University in 1994 and his master’s degree in education leadership from Saint Leo University in 2001.
